Reviews Summary

Jeremy Point offers a truly wild and unforgettable coastal hiking experience, with visitors raving about the stunning views and unique tidal flat exploration. However, the challenging terrain, the absolute necessity of timing with low tide, and the lack of facilities mean it's not for everyone. Proper preparation is key to enjoying this remote gem.

"Jeremy Point via the Great Island Trail in Wellfleet is a tough but unforgettable hike—8 miles of deep sand, wind-swept dunes, and tidal flats. No shade, no bathrooms, and no room for error if you misjudge the tide. But if you get it right, you’ll stand at the edge of Cape Cod, staring out where sky and bay blur together. One of the wildest, most remote spots left on the Outer Cape"

RoadTrip NewEngland

"Go at low tide! It took us an hour and a half to get to Jeremy's Point from the beginning of Great Island trail. It was absolutely incredible, amazing views and there was a pod of seals that indicted us right into the water to swim with them. We hadn't timed things right and so we were leaving the point to hike back only an hour before high tide. Even with an hour to go, the water was already up to our thighs for some long stretches. We were a little worried about the phones in our pockets! It was also a little hard to see where the sands dropped off and it got deeper. So absolutely amazing, the bring your sunscreen and check the tide table!"

Amanda Stauffer

"A great walk over beach and through forest. Went out on a rainy December, a young snowy owl was perched on a bit of rusted steel right at the point."
