WDFW Green Dot trails.  Free map from WDFW. Discovery Pass required. Colockum Wildlife area.  Wenatchee to Ellensburg drive.  Stemitt Loop Rd.  Turned left onto Jump Off Rd (South) to Jump Off Rd trailhead/gate.  Drove South on Jump Off Rd (tire ruts in sections) to Naneum Ridge Rd.  I turned left (East) on to Naneum Ridge Rd.  Continued down Naneum Ridge Rd.  Then turned Right on Colockum Rd (South).  I stopped at the Coffin historic marker (Homesteaders).  Then continued down Colockum Rd to Midway Station Colockum Pass between Ellensburg and Wenatchee historic marker.  Continued down Colockum Rd. exit to Ellensburg.  Valleys, open ranges, forests and views to see forever.   I saw a dog, cows and an elk.  Fuel up. Bring family, friends, food, snacks, water and spend the day exploring.  Jeep trails.  Easy drive from Wenatchee to Ellensburg. The WDFW map is helpful. WiFi is strong in spots. Satellite radio/navigation is strong. See ya on the trail

WDFW Green Dot trails.  Free map from WDFW. Discovery Pass required. I entered at Stem Loop Rd. Green Dot sign at trailhead.
From this trail I took Schaller Rd to Jumpoff Rd to Naneum Ridge Rd, heading East to Brewton Rd. Brewton Rd is a 1 tight lane road with no pull outs, steep cliff face on one side of road and the other side of road, drops down 100's of feet into the canyon. I continued to Tekison Creek Rd to the end of road. From this area you can see Crescent Bar. Great views, lots of hidden valleys. Game reserve areas. I saw lots of elk and 2 bear cubs playing in the meddows A few birds. Still a few water/mud puddles to drive thru. Jeep trails for the most part. In some spots you will need high ground clearance. Fuel up. Bring family, friends, food, snacks and water. Spend the day. The WDFW map is helpful. WiFi strong in spots. Satilite radio strong. See ya on the trail."

"Wonderful destination for hunting and rustic camping. If you have a four wheel drive, I would definitely recommend camping. You’ll see tons of native flora and fauna while being treated to some of the most beautiful vistas in the state."

"The Colockum road is a rustic 3 to 4 hour journey into the past along this native trail turned cattle drive path and eventually into a stagecoach road from Ellensburg to Wenatchee. The ancient route was never developed into a highway and remains in the condition it had been over a century ago. Very fun!"
