Thank you so much to the entire staff at the @Brandywine Valley SPCA for having me! I wanted to show some of the senior dogs because they are the ones who seem to sit at the shelters for too long… Please consider visiting the spca if you are local. There are many different breeds available for adoption and you may just find your soul pup! Volunteers are always always appreciated if you are local ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Myrick Conservation Center for its beautiful, diverse landscapes, offering both serene forest walks and scenic farm field views. It's a highly regarded spot for dog owners, with convenient amenities. However, a significant drawback is the poorly marked trail system, which can lead to disorientation, and concerns about herbicide use in farmed areas during certain seasons.

"I walk here every morning with my dog. It's the most beautiful place. People are friendly when they pass. Horse riders always say good morning. It's amazing thing to do before work."

George Hess

"The Myrick Farm has been my go to park for daily dog walks since 20 years. It offers nice walking paths where I can walk through forests and open fields. There are areas with grass and some areas with corn/soy/wheat or sunflowers. The park is well maintained and attractive throughout the year. There is a very good group of responsible dog owners with great dogs. The park provides poop bags in case you forgot yours, please clean up after your dog!
On weekdays you have to be out of the park between 9:00 and 15:00 for maintenance and camps.
I avoid the farmed areas from mid May till mid June because of the use of Glyphosate-and I don’t want my dogs to be exposed to that controversial herbicide when it’s still wet and you just don’t know when it has been applied (unless you see the spraying, this year it was May 21). I also don’t understand
why there were kid’s camps that day…
Still 5 stars, just avoid the farmed area for a short time.

June 28, 7:15: say big spraying tractor again, breezy conditions, summer camp…"

"Seems like a nice place, but it's pretty irresponsible how poorly marked the trails are. I saw literally zero trail markings or maps on a six-mile run. The best you get are "Back to BRCA" signs with an arrow but then those are so far apart that they're useless (and in one instance there were two arrows pointing opposite directions!). God help you if you try to go on a run here without your phone. I'd strongly encourage management to add trail markings before there's a serious incident."
