What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Apgar Visitor Center as a well-organized starting point with helpful rangers and a great gift shop. The stunning views of Lake McDonald and convenient access to rentals and shuttles are highlights. However, parking can be extremely limited during peak season, requiring patience and early arrival.
"Glacier is a beautiful park with incredible views. The visitor center is a good stop before you head into the park. They have a good shop inside with good prices. The park rangers were helpful with questions. There is also a large trail map inside so you can preplan your trip into the park. Keep Your eyes open for grizzly bears. They are not easy to spot in the mountains but super cool when you do see one."

"The Apgar Visitor Center at Glacier National Park was great. Very organized, you could tell where you were supposed to catch your Red Bus tour, a lot of rangers available for questions, great store with lots of hats, shirts, and souvenirs. Unfortunately, their parking lot is pretty small for the amount of people that show up. But if you wait on the hour for a tour to end, then parking is more readily available. Just get there early and be patient with parking."

"Apgar visitors center is located on the southern end of McDonald Lake. Its a great starting point for your trip into the park area. There are canoe rentals along with paddle board. Campground are located in and around the area but permits are needed along with you park pass. This also has a shopping area with lots of shops and coffee. Views are awesome and the lake is crystal clear. Make no mistake, this a great place to start your adventure."
