What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sperry Chalet is lauded as a magical, secluded backcountry lodge accessible only by a challenging hike. Guests rave about the breathtaking views, friendly staff who foster a family atmosphere, and the delicious food, including fresh baked goods and vegan options. The lack of electricity and cell service is seen as a positive for a true digital detox. Some find the hike strenuous and the accommodations basic, but the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
"Amazing secluded spot to stay only accessible via a hike-in if you're lucky enough to score reservations. A 2 night stay makes the hike to Sperry Glacier easy. The food, staff, rooms, and service were great. We enjoyed being offline and the sun didn't set until 10p so we did not feel confined despite being without power. We really enjoyed the chocolate cake and lemonade as well as coffee hour where we played games."

"Sperry Chalet, is a magical place you get to by foot, 7.1 miles uphill. It burned a few years ago, so it can be a warmer, less shaded hike than in years past. We have never stayed, but we stop here whenever we are feeling like a good, stiff uphill hard and a toe crunching, quad burn hike down. Treat yourself to a lemonade, sandwich, and who knows maybe you will even get to score yourself a piece of pie in one of the world's most magical places. Like Nike says, Just do it."

"Glacier Park is a gem of a mountain range and the hike to Sperry Chalet and Sperry Glacier is filled with stunning beauty and magnificence. Our guide JD, from the Glacier Guides Company, had deep knowledge of the geology, plants, and animals in the park. He is a great teacher, both curious and giving and was a great companion to have along. The food at the chalet, excellent with fresh baked bread and pastries, had vegan options with perfectly cooked vegetables the vegan cook had brought up from her garden in the valley. It was a trip with meals of a lifetime. Thank you all. And thank you Glacier National Park Service for the meticulous rebuild of Sperry chalet. It’s so nice to see your reborn."
