The Westport Library is lauded for its extensive and innovative resources, including a unique 'Library of Things' and advanced creative studios. Staff are consistently praised for their helpfulness, and the riverside setting offers a peaceful ambiance. However, some visitors note that the library can be quite noisy, making it less ideal for those seeking absolute quiet for work or study.
"Has everything you might want from a public library. Good place to get work done. Helpful front desk and librarians. Interesting events. Lovely setting along the Saugatuck"

"I have been going to the library since its old location for the past forty years. Its tanked lately, removing their best books, and feels a lot more like its trying to be a work space.
The biggest issue is a human rights and privacy issue. I was astonished to see they are using Hikvision cameras. This is the opposite of security. This camera brand shares with the peoples republic of china, is undergoing lawsuits for corporate espionage, and is sanctioned by the US Government. This feels somewhat reckless for patrons like me and puts vulnerable citizens at risk. It brings up other cybersecurity concerns.
The librarians and other staff are helpful and are who really earns the best stars here. I hope the decision makers change course and disconnect those cameras."

"The library is nice and has a cafe but genuinely the worst place to do work ever. I actually don’t understand why it is so loud like is this not a library. What happened to the expectation of a quiet work space??? There is constant loud noises at all times whether its doors slamming, people talking, people talking phone calls. It’s ridiculous and genuinely frustrates me so bad and some of the noise can be attested to the grown adults that work there being so loud so that confuses me too."
