"a very good very challenging hike. I'm glad i didn't read the reviews before as I might have missed this. Went with my grandkids and their dad. trail starts downhill for almost half mile until you reach the now closed Mill Creek falls trail. You continue across a bridge and then the trail starts to climb. oh forgot to mention the trail sign said 1 mile. yes up, up, up, and up more. there are benches to rest but the climb is difficult. there is one spot that is particularly sketchy and not advisable for anyone without very good balance. however just as you enter the cooler area guess what? Yes up again but only a short distance to a remarkable falls,! the return trip is easier but challenging. however, if i can do it and I'm a 70 yr old cancer survivor who was in hospital only a few months, then many others can should take the hike. we had a great time.
couple notes. wear good traction hiking shoes and i had my trusty pole and hydration pack."

"Well worth the effort. Take your time on the hike up. It feels as if the entire hike is uphill.
The falls are beautiful, and there's plenty of view spots to see the cascade.
Once you get to the falls, there are stone steps and metal handrails on the left-hand side of the falls. At some recent time, there was a small landslide that took out some of the steps and rails, so they blocked it off.
There are a few spots that aren't easy to cross...definitely not ADA compliant.
Parking is limited as well, so plan a day during the week when there are fewer people."

"You’ll have to park at the James K. Carr trailhead to get to the water fall. If you’re driving on a dirt road you’ve gone too far. The hike is 75% up hill, 700 feet of elevation change. It’s a harder hike but not impossible. They have plenty of benches for you to rest while going to the waterfall."
