Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the White Domes Trail, calling it one of the most beautiful and scenic hikes in Valley of Fire. The slot canyon and movie set ruins are frequently cited as highlights, offering a unique and engaging experience. While the sandy portions can be challenging, the overall consensus is that it's a highly recommended, diverse, and rewarding short loop.

"Not for the casual walker. This is very rough terrain. The surface is sand in rock and is very slippery in places. I would avoid this walk if you have knee issues or are not nimble. But if you don't have issues with that the views are incredible. And definitely worth the hike."

Mike LaVallie

"A really great hike to do that begins easy, then descends into a slot canyon that is breathtakingly beautiful.
There’s plenty of parking here and restrooms are available.
Wear good hiking shoes and a hat, and take more water than you think you might need, especially on hot and sunny days. You will have a lot of sun exposure."

Mark Pitts

"WHY HIKE IT?
1. Fabulous scenery–some of the best in the park.
2. Loop trail, so no double tracking.
3. There is a bit of variety to the landscape to experience.
4. Really fun, tight canyons to cut through along this trail.

CAUTIONS:
1. Portions of the trail are very sandy. Deep sand. I felt like I was wading in water. This can slow you down and even make walking a bit of a challenge for some. The park is mostly sandstone so the sand is simply a caveat of the beautiful landscape.
2. The majority of the trail is flat, but be aware there are steep segments. These segments are few and short, so not too bad.

OVERALL, this is one of the best hikes within the park. Highly recommended."
