"Watson park is a treasure inside the Wichita, KS city limits. Picnic tables and reservable shelters make a great place for gatherings. There are several playgrounds for young children. "The men's restroom smells horrendous and looks like it has not been properly cleaned in quite a while...or are there plumbing problems? As we were waiting at the train station the smell of sewage ruined a relaxing wait because of the breeze and that's what at least 60 feet away. Who is in charge of the restroom? Is their own personal home restroom filthy? Why are park employees seen leisurely riding around on a utility vehicle when they should be cleaning the restroom? The brand new playground features are not cool. What is with all the circles and ropes? Who is in charge of the decision making to purchase a design like this and do they even have kids??? My son was not impressed at all!! No monkey bars??? It's like they don't want strong kids anymore. What kind of playground doesn't have proper monkey bars. The entire new space is a total waste of resources. Should have kept the old one! Edit to add.. look at this picnic table."

"Maybe I just caught it on a good day but I had a blast here. Very light on homeless/junkies, grounds were well maintained, all the shelters were full of parties and the water was cool and blue (usually everything is on algae warning this time of year). The train ride, kayaks and paddle boats, pony rides and all the rest were in full swing. I've heard this place can be sketchy sometimes but I found it to be extremely family friendly and a lot of fun!"
