Reviews Summary
Wilmot Mountain is a beloved local spot, especially for families and beginners, offering accessible slopes and fun snow tubing. While some find the runs short and prices high since its acquisition by Vail, many appreciate the well-maintained conditions, friendly staff, and convenient location near Chicago. It's a solid choice for introducing winter sports.
"We had a fantastic time at Wilmot Ski Resort! It’s truly a perfect spot for families, especially if you’re skiing with kids or beginners. The slopes are well-maintained and offer a range of trails that make it easy for everyone to find their comfort zone. Our kids took lessons and the instructors were wonderful – so patient and knowledgeable, which made them feel confident and excited to learn. The staff overall was incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions or give pointers. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. It’s a great place to introduce your family to skiing, and we’ll definitely be coming back!"

"A fun place to ski but nothing special. Very short runs and usually all man made snow with slow lifts though for the area that's as good as it gets. The resort unfortunately has felt more corporate since it got aquired by Vail and the daily lift price is kinda insane for the size of the mountain."

"Picked a beautiful day to visit middle of January. Sun was out 42 degrees and the runs were extremely well maintained. No lines at the lifts the snow was powder and clean. The workers were knowledgeable and very nice. The ski equipment was good not great. The food was great a little pricey but we are sking. The overall price for one day for 2 people with food and drinks and equipment and lift tickets 500$ we are talking about skiing lol. If you have never done it I highly recommend doing it."
