What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Tims Ford State Park for its stunning lake views, well-maintained trails, and engaging Nature Center. Many highlight the peaceful atmosphere and opportunities for outdoor recreation. Some minor issues include the condition of some trail panels and the gravel tent pads at campsites.
"Absolutely loved my stay. I stayed at Fairview Campground and relaxed with the water view. The Lost Creek Overlook trail was magnificent (watch out if rope bridges aren't your thing!) There were even fossils on the lakeside we were amazed to see. We especially loved seeing the animals at the visitor center, which we did not know were there.
I will say, I walked the Story Book Trail and loved it, but the panels needed a bit of TLC! Some of the panels were tough to read with dirt crusted on. We brought some water and were able to clear a couple panels of its dirt but would be special if they were all clean and more easily readable for the next visitor."

"Absolutely beautiful! Stayed in one of the cabins, and I loved every second of it. The cabin was a clean and spacious living area. The cabin has a large private porch to the master bedroom and a very large extended porch for the guest room and the dining area, all with outstanding views. The trails in this park are beautiful and generally easy to hike with scenic views of the waterway and forests. The visitors center is wonderful and full of information. They have critters found in the area that are being rehabilitated, such as a hawk , a great horned owl, snakes, and others around for viewing. The rangers are knowledge and outgoing, providing great experiences to kids. We were able to hold a snake, rock climb, and get a nice tour before we wandered off to hit the trails. I recommend bringing the family and enjoying time outdoors. ALSO, apprently, this is Sasquatch country lol, so be on the lookout out. HAVE FUN!!!"

"I have visited this park many times throughout the seasons and really enjoy the loop trails. The terrain is easy plus some trails follow the water. Also paved bike trails. Views are gorgeous especially early morning sunrise 🌅. The nature center is fun for children to learn what animals inhabit the park. Parking and bathrooms, maps, info are available at Park Office. There are 2 EV Parking stations. Camping and RV sites plus educational programs. Have fun and please remember to pack out anything you pack in. 🥰👨🦯👩🦯🌄🏕🌃"
