What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Bunnell House for its well-maintained historical interiors and distinctive architecture, offering a genuine glimpse into 19th-century life. However, the extremely limited opening hours and lack of facilities like restrooms are significant drawbacks for many.
"Three floors of nicely maintained history.
Four star review because it’s only open 6 hours a month (June- Sept).
No public restroom but a comfortable temperature inside. I got there 30 minutes before it closed but felt like I saw everything. Out building is not open to the public.
5-6 free parking spots, with room for more, if need be."

"American Gothic house built in mid 1800's restored by the Winona County Historical Society. Sad story, parents died of tuberculosis, left 8 children to husband's brother while others were sold to work at mansions in winona. Even after husband's brother died, and left everything to his in laws, children still got zero inheritance.
House has three levels to explore. Open 4x per year. Definitely a must see if in the area when open."
