What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Posada Hotel is widely praised for its exceptional old-world charm, rich history, and beautifully restored architecture. Guests rave about the unique rooms, serene gardens, and the top-notch dining at The Turquoise Room. While some rooms are near active train tracks, many find the sounds peaceful and even enjoyable, though those sensitive to noise may prefer rooms further away.
"This place is truly one of the neatest hotels we have ever stayed in…my husband and I both agreed. Old world charm at its best. We didn’t know anything about the trains or the rich history when we booked our stay and, upon finding out it doubled as a train station, I was nervous I would be bothered by train noise. I found out that 4 trains came and went during our one night stay and I hardly even knew it…no noise at all. The grounds are beautiful (and getting even better) and we sat in the gardens birdwatching and listening to the sounds of nature. So peaceful. Comfortable beds, great service, and the food in the Turquoise Room (onsite restaurant) was top notch. If I’m ever in Winslow again, I will definitely stay here."

"It was a very enjoyable day. We stay in a room that’s right next to the railroad tracks and thoroughly enjoy it. It is noisy, but we know that. There are many many rooms that are away from the tracks, but you can still enjoy the trains by going out front and sitting on the patio.I love everything about the hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the museum is really interesting, and the food in the restaurant is very good. Everyone is very friendly and the hotel staff are very accommodating."

"We had a great stay at this hotel. My son LOVES trains so this was an excellent choice. The gentleman who checked us in on Saturday afternoon was great! I'm sorry I forgot to catch his name. Johnny, who was at the front desk Sunday was excellent! He really went above and beyond for us!
The hotel has beautiful gardens in the front and very interesting art pieces throughout. Some weren't my cup of tea but art is subjective.
I was a little worried that the train noise would be too much to get a good night's sleep but no! I don't think we heard a single train horn and the trains rolling by on the track were a pleasant noise, in my opinion.
It is a lovely hotel with history and so many interesting things to see throughout.
We will definitely be staying again when we're up that way."
