The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando offers spacious suites and a fun water park, making it a hit with families. However, some guests have encountered issues with service inconsistencies, cleanliness, and unexpected fees like parking, leading to mixed experiences.
"Soha super super super nice at the front desk! Will update how my stay is. My first time visiting!
Update: I hate the hate hate this hotel, the only positive experience I’ve had here is check in. And Soha giving me a free upgrade. But when I look back on it, Soha was so annoyed with having to wait on management for over 10 minutes to even approve the upgrade that she was giving. Staff at this hotel, give the impression they don’t care to have this job. I went to dinner, super excited at their “nice” restaurant. Host was just standing in the back playing on her phone for 5 minutes before she seated us. Dining room completely empty, not one of the other employees even bothered to look at us.
Our waiter, I will say was super honest when I brought up my concerns about the hotel and I appreciated that. $55 for a ribeye, the entire border of the steak was fat, tasted like old meat. I also, ordered fries. Our food was still being placed on the table, and I did a fry check. Served to us cold. Ordered fried mozzarella, you might as well just call it breading because absolutely no mozzarella in the inside.
Our upgraded room, no hot water. I try to call management at 9 PM, I’m informed there’s no management I can voice my concerns too. The rooms are updated, but the service is a joke. Employees let me know they have had superiors changed 4 times this year. I’m so upset that I was fooled by the photos of the rooms online. I will never ever ever return, nor recommend this hotel.
Tv options: absolutely no streaming, no pairing. Pay-per-view is a joke. There’s maybe 6 pay-per-view titles and they aren’t even new releases."

"We arrived for a 10 night trip that we had paid for in the end of September. We booked while booking flights thinking we were doing the right thing in saving some extra money with JetBlue (trueblue) to be exact. Well, upon arrival we were smacked with first she tried for over a 600 parking fee, then altered to a 372 dollar parking fee…. NO WHERE ON MY RESERVATION did it mention this. I also never received an email from the resort itself although I did receive probably 100s of texts while there from the resort notifying me of EVERYTHING.
Second bone to pick- beautiful resort, nice pool / nice lazy river. When we checked in our bed wasn’t even fully made, thinking this resort offered cleaning we waited to call.. day 3 we wake up still no one so I call, they come and make the bed the next day and leave dirty linens in a bag on my husbands clean clothes… surprising for such a well Rated resort.
Couple of other PSAS-
Everything includes 20 percent gratuity no matter where you go but most of the resort staff doesn’t tell you.
They did nothing for the parking even though we had our family drive here from another part of Florida to stay with us for the night (who didn’t pay parking) - he booked through Expedia.
Awful first time experiences. Every hotel down here has a water park, we won’t be back."

"Our family was super excited about our first stay here. The room was nice a spacious. The smell was a little awkward and the sliding glass door in our unit did not have any vertical blinds or any curtains. This made us very uncomfortable and did not allow us total privacy. Upon my arrival, I called immediately for this to be resolved and was told a maintenance worker would address the issue. No one ever arrived. So we were unable to utilize the full unit and had to share beds. That was extremely disappointing. Another downer was the poor customer service from the host at the Valencia restaurant.
Our family paid for great hospitality and customer service and it was not delivered. Bonnet Creek provides better quality service to their patrons and our family has always been satisfied with our stay there. It looks like we will continue staying where we feel valued and appreciated."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
While the resort offers a lot for kids, it's advisable to be prepared for potential service inconsistencies and to confirm all fees, especially parking, in advance. Bringing along some basic toiletries and coffee can also make your stay more comfortable.
💰 Budget-Conscious Travelers
However, be mindful of the significant parking fees at the resort itself, which can add a substantial amount to your bill. It's crucial to factor these in when comparing prices. Additionally, while the resort offers a lot of on-site entertainment, the cost of food and drinks at the restaurants can be high. While you might not spend extensive time at the resort's own water park, its spacious suites can be a comfortable place to relax and recharge between park visits. Navigating The Grove Resort's Amenities
For those seeking more active pursuits, the resort also boasts an arcade and access to water sports on the adjacent lake. However, it's worth noting that some guest experiences have pointed out that not all amenities are always in perfect working order, with mentions of non-functional gym equipment and occasional elevator issues. Despite these occasional drawbacks, the overall consensus is that the water park and pool areas are exceptionally well-received and a highlight for most guests, especially families.
Understanding Room Features and Service
However, guest reviews have also highlighted some recurring issues regarding room condition and service. Common complaints include a lack of privacy blinds or curtains in bedrooms, which can disrupt sleep, especially for children. Some guests have also reported cleanliness concerns, such as hair and mold in showers, and a general lack of complimentary cleaning or turndown services, with charges for these if requested. Additionally, basic amenities like coffee are not always provided, requiring guests to bring their own. The resort's service has also been a point of contention, with some guests experiencing slow responses to issues and a perceived lack of attentiveness from staff.
Navigating Costs and Fees
Beyond parking, the resort often includes a 20% gratuity on various services, which may not always be explicitly stated by staff. Dining at the on-site restaurants can also be expensive, with entrees priced at a premium. While the resort offers a complimentary shuttle to Disney parks, this convenience should be weighed against the other potential charges. It is highly recommended to confirm all fees, including resort fees and parking, directly with the resort before or upon arrival to avoid unexpected expenses.
