What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
LEGOLAND Florida Resort is widely praised for its immersive LEGO theme and family-friendly atmosphere, especially for younger children. Visitors appreciate the unique hotel experiences and the ability to bring in outside food. However, some find the food options repetitive and expensive, and the park can get very hot and crowded during peak times.
"A perfect place for kids under 10 years old (in my opinion). The rides were interactive and fun, lines were shorter in duration compared to Disney, there is a lot to see and do in between rides (creation zones, play areas, etc.), and there are multiple areas for shade and a reprieve from the heat.
If you are staying at the resort, it is directly adjacent to the park and steps away from the entrance which is very convenient. Prices for food and drink are steep, which is to be expected from a theme park, but they allow you to come in with bags and drinks so you have the option to eat your own food with many picnic tables and areas to sit located throughout the park.
One of our favorite spots was the massive Lego city within Legoland where you'll see some of the most amazing and intricate Lego designs set up.
We went for 4th of July and there was an exquisite fireworks display that my family enjoyed.
Would definitely recommend!"

"Perfect place for kids and young adults! We visited on a regular weekday, and the crowd was still pretty decent. The water park is definitely one of the highlights, especially during summer, it’s full of fun rides and water games that everyone can enjoy. A great spot to spend the day with family.
Just make sure to buy your tickets online in advance, otherwise it can get really expensive at the gate."

"Our trip to LEGOLAND was a mix of highs and lows, which is why we're giving it four stars. On the one hand, the park itself is a blast for kids, with so much to see and do. The LEGO models are incredible, and the overall atmosphere is fantastic. We were also pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facilities, especially the bathrooms—they were immaculate, which is a big plus when you have little ones.
The main disappointment, however, was the weather. Unfortunately, a lot of the rides had to close due to the bad weather, which really put a damper on our day. While we understand that safety comes first, it was frustrating to have paid for a full day and not be able to experience everything we had hoped to. It would have been great if LEGOLAND had a more flexible policy, such as offering a voucher for a return visit on a different day when the weather is better. This is something other theme parks sometimes do, and it would go a long way in improving the guest experience on a day affected by Mother Nature.
Despite the setback with the rides, we still had a good time. The staff was friendly, the park was well-maintained, and the parts of the park that were open were a lot of fun. We'll definitely be back, but hopefully next time we'll have better luck with the weather!"

Staying at LEGOLAND Hotels
Beyond the theming, the hotels provide convenient access to the park, often with dedicated entrances or short walking paths. The Pirate Island Hotel, for instance, has a pirate theme with a treasure hunt scavenger hunt in the rooms. While they can be pricier than off-site options, the added benefits and convenience for families with young children make them a popular choice for a complete LEGOLAND vacation.
It's worth noting that some Reddit users suggest that while the hotels are fun, they can be expensive, and there are more budget-friendly, walkable options nearby like Best Western. However, for a truly themed experience and the perk of early entry, the on-site hotels are a strong contender.
Maximizing Your Visit with Kids
Many parents rave about how LEGOLAND can be surprisingly relaxing, even with kids. This is often attributed to shorter wait times compared to other major theme parks, especially if visiting on weekdays. Letting children lead the way and choosing rides they are excited about can also contribute to a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
For families with children who have autism or sensory sensitivities, LEGOLAND Florida is a certified autism center. They offer resources like the Hero Access Pass and sensory guides for rides, making the park more inclusive and accessible for all children.
Food and Drink Strategies
A popular tip from visitors is to bring your own snacks and even a packed lunch in a soft-sided cooler or backpack. This can significantly reduce your spending and ensure you have options readily available. Some Reddit users mention that re-entry is easy, allowing for a mid-day break to eat a packed meal outside the park.
If you plan to dine within the park, consider the unlimited drink refill option to stay hydrated affordably. For a unique park treat, don't miss the famous Apple Fries, which are a highly recommended snack.
