What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Harmon Hill Long Trail is praised for its challenging, steep initial climb and the spectacular panoramic views of Bennington from the summit. While it offers a great workout, hikers should be prepared for the rocky ascent and the lack of facilities. It's a rewarding hike for those who enjoy a good challenge and beautiful scenery.
"We did not hike anything here, but we did stop to check out part of the Appalachian Trail. We only walked a few feet, but we came across a nice bridge. Across the street was a 1.7 mile hike (one way) but it started off going straight up very steep rocks so we did not make it very far. It was beautiful what we did see."

"Short hike to start your day and definitely get your blood flowing immediately! Like other reviews state, it is uphill the first .55 miles. Know you level of ability before taking this hike. If your legs and body aren't stable hiking uphill on rocks, then this hike might not be for you. But if you decide to march on you will be rewarded with a gorgeous view of Bennington from the top where you can also relax before the hike back down hill. Enjoy Vermont!"

"This was a great workout. The incline is step but plenty of rocks set out to climb up like stairs. Trail conditions were good but a few spots were wet and lots of leaves, so be cautious. Beautiful views from the top. We are not that experienced at hiking mountains so it took us an hour to get to the top. Younger folks (20-40 year olds) were moving much quicker up."
