Making the Most of Old Faithful Inn
We're headed out to Yellowstone w/ 4 kids, 10 and up. We will be at OFI 2 nights and Mammoth 2 nights. How can we best take advantage of our stay at OFI? Like what parts of being there early or late would be best to capitalize on? Where should hang out or what should we see…

old faithful inn worth it?
Not sure if I can get a room anyway, but I've been reading reviews and they are pretty bad. I would say any NP onsite is kind of blah... Looking at end of September beginning of October (since there is a lot of "don't go the first time in October" messages. Wanted to stay in the…
Checking into Old Faithful for one night from Jackson, WY. What attractions can I hit while at Old Faithful that require no driving?
* Old Faithful Eruption at Observation Point * Walk Entire Upper Geyser Basin * Grand Prismatic Hot Spring * Lower Geyser Basin Is covering all of this while at Old Faitful for one night realistic?

Comfortable walking shoes are a must for exploring the inn and surrounding geyser basin. :athletic_shoe:

How to see Old Faithful and the pools? (noob)
Complete noob to of course.. Yellowstone. Not going on any tours, though, I don't know if it's required. My buddy and I are going to be coming from Boise in about a week to see Yellowstone along the way of our giant roadtrip journey and I'm having difficulty finding any…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Old Faithful Inn's unparalleled historic charm, stunning architecture, and prime location next to the iconic geyser. The grand lobby and views of Old Faithful are major highlights. However, some find the rooms basic, Wi-Fi unreliable, and dining options pricey.
"Old Faithful Inn is one of the most beautiful and iconic hotels I’ve ever visited. Built in the early 1900s, it’s full of history and charm. The log-and-stone design, tall wooden beams, creaky floors, and giant fireplace give it a warm, cozy feeling that takes you back in time. You can really feel the age and character of the place in the best way. The location is perfect—right next to the famous Old Faithful geyser. The lobby is grand, and the views from the upper deck are amazing. It’s a true Yellowstone experience and a must-stay if you love nature and history."

"One of a kind experience of staying inside the old house section of the Inn. This historical building has so many stories to tell about the craftsmanship of men who braved the seasons to create this masterpiece in the center of nowhere in 1903-04.
Beautiful details. Don't miss their Architecture/history tours that happen multiple times everyday to know how it was built and how people lived here in old days.
We stayed on the first floor of the old house. Rooms are dark but cool. Bathrooms are shared, however very clean and I didn't have to wait even once to use the restroom or bathroom during our 2 nights stay. There's a washbasin inside the rooms, room service refreshes towels and beds everyday (which is generally becoming so rare these days)
All the staff we talked to were friendly. A lot of new staff were in their first couple weeks of summer jobs and were still learning, but still very kind and eager to help.
Live music during the evenings was like cherry on the top. Loved chill evenings here.
They update the times of Old Faithful eruptions. If you are too lazy to go out on the boardwalk, you can watch it from the front patio as well (or if you have room in the wing with the view, you can watch it from there)
Must visit!"

"The best way to summarize our stay at Old Faithful Inn is wow! The architecture and construction of the inn itself is worth going to see, but having it right beside Old Faithful just added so much to our vacation. The service was top notch and the meals in the dining room were fantastic. The shops were pleasant. The rooms are a little smaller than I’m used to, there was no WiFi in the building but there was cellular for Verizon, and changing the menu for buffets every once in a while would be nice."
