Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Fray Bentos Industrial Landscape, calling it a genuine adventure with stunning, rustic views and incredible photo opportunities. The derelict factory and the power plant room are particular highlights, offering an unvarnished glimpse into industrial history. While some find the museum's flow and English translations inconsistent, the overall experience is highly recommended for its unique, immersive atmosphere.

"Very much worth a visit! Visiting the museum with a tour would be worthwhile (if - like us - you want to see as much of the derelict factory as possible), but it can be cancelled if wet and/or windy. But BUT the museum gives you access to the stunning old power plant room of the factory, which is worth the entrance fee itself! And you can wander almost the whole site after that (and peek through lots of cracks in doors, broken windows, etc. to see stuff that's locked away). It's a genuine adventure. None of the usual health and safety we associate with home - which leaves you with honest, super-rustic views and photos. We had it to ourselves, for the 2+ hours we were there!

The museum itself is good. The main display area is slightly random - it doesn't "flow" in any particular way, and sometimes we had English translations, sometimes not. But it's still worth taking the time as there is lots of interesting history in this place! And a wander and nosey around the grounds is fab! 🙂"

Chris Le Grice

"Lots of stuff to see but very little in English and hard to find your way about, particularly to the machine hall - keep trying doors until you get in!
We seemed to be the only people there."

Martyn Shaw

"We went on a tour at 3.00PM and we were the only ones. Guide Nicholas was really kind, answered all our questions, he spoke perfect english. You should not miss this, if you are in Fray Bentos, highly recommended!"
