"This museum is a gem and an interesting look at the creative process. Figari, a writer and lawyer, started his painting career at the age of 60! It was fascinating to read about his son's role in his life; the son died so young and was himself a gifted artist. I loved the display of old paint tubes. When I visited, the second floor was devoted to the winner of a prize named after Figari. I liked her work a lot, which included not only paintings and drawings but also multimedia work and even illustrations for book and album covers: a unique window into Uruguay's rich culture. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Also, admittance to the museum is free."
