What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently rave about the stunning beachfront locations and the incredible privacy offered by many properties, often feeling like they have the entire beach to themselves. The natural beauty, from Buck Island's reefs to the clear waters, is a major draw, alongside the island's relaxing atmosphere and affordability compared to other Caribbean destinations. Some find the island's pace a bit too slow, and a car is essential for exploration.
"My aunt and uncle owned this house for many years in the 80s through the 00s. Many members of my family spent many wonderful weeks there. Heaven on earth!"

"I've had several long vacations on St Croix at this point, and I can safely say that this is one of the best houses on the island and a near-perfect spot for a relaxing vacation.
Location: The house is located directly on a private beach that does not have any public access roads. Just walk across your giant back yard and voila, you're at the water. There's maybe a half-dozen houses that have access to the beach and in my 12 days there I saw a single neighbor walking down the beach twice. So you essentially have the entire beach-front to yourself. There is a lot of space (and trees) between houses so there is a strong sense of privacy. During the day, you have a perfect view of Buck Island and the ocean. Since the house is located on the secluded East end of the island, there are very few city lights and you get a night sky popping with stars. At night we would just grab the boogie boards, jump into the ocean and float around, trying to identify the constellations. Location is as good as it gets; just keep in mind that you'll need access to a car if you want to go out and visit other parts of the island.
Activities: Again, it's beach-front property so think water sports galore. There's a buoy about 100 yards from the house, which I swam to every day to get a burst of energy. I took the boogie boards out to the reef and played around on the waves. I used the provided kayaks to get out to Buck Island to snorkel. Buck Island is reputable for some of the best snorkeling in the world, and you'll see catamarans out there every day with tourists (who probably pay a load of money for it). They have a well-built private dock which is perfect for sunset drinks. We'd grab the chairs and bottle of wine and play Otis Redding's Sitting on the Dock of the Bay while enjoying the view. The pool faces the Ocean, so we'd grab a beer or mojito and relax. We also did some pool volleyball and played horseshoes in the backyard.
House: The home is broken down into separate areas, so each bedroom is very private. All parts of the house have windows and sliding glass doors everywhere, so there is an abundance of light and air flow. There is a covered patio with lounge chairs and a nice glass table, all facing the ocean of course. We ate dinner outside every night. In general, the house was in good shape and everything worked fine. They collect and filter rain water so they ask that you be conscious of your water use, which I actually thought was pretty cool.
I really can't say enough good things about this property. I was joking with a friend that the owners should run high-end yoga retreats because of how good the vibe is. We had that time of our lives there. You won't be disappointed."

"The location is amazing - the ocean is on the doorstep! This is a great house with a awesome pool and stunning views. It was perfect for our girl's trip, but could also be great for a romantic getaway or with the kids (pool). It has a number of restaurants and grocery stores just a short drive away. The owners offer great amenities too, like floats for the pool, cushioned lounge chairs and snorkeling gear, just to name a few! It goes down in my book as one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed/visited. I truly can't say enough good things about this place, the people and island. I hope to visit again soon!"
