It was originally located in the Altagracia parish of Caracas, on the site of the Church of the Holy Trinity, which was built in 1744 and inaugurated in 1780. The church was destroyed in 1812 by an earthquake that affected the city of Caracas. The Pantheon was inaugurated on October 28, 1875.
