Reviews Summary

This hidden gem is praised for its authentic and delicious Bun Rieu soup, particularly the flavorful mantis prawn topping. While the food is consistently rated highly for taste and value, some visitors note that hygiene standards may differ from Western expectations and that certain toppings can run out. The unique alleyway location adds to its charm, making it a true local experience.

"Clean place, decent food but I didn’t like the fact that they run out of mantis prawn and simply changed my order to something else and served. Coz I came for the mantis prawn really. The rest of the toppings they serve are simply fish internal organs/shredded beef/tofu. Had I known that I would have gone to other bun Rieu place that has fried fish.

But at the same time I appreciated they chopped the vege, which allowed the vege to go with the food a lot better.

A bit hidden coz it’s tucked inside one small alley with very small signpost."

"It's a little hidden out of sight from the street, hidden at the end of a corridor.
We were the only non-locals, as far as I could tell, which have us hope to get the real deal.
The soup base was great and staff make you feel welcomed and help you order. Note that the egg is not a regular hard-boiled egg but a fertilized egg half way in the process to become a bird. I chickened out..."

Only wish I could speak Vietnamese to be able to order properly.

Very fair price and great quality, recommend going if you don't mind the Vietnamese style dining and in search of a good bun rieu near the old quarter!"
