What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Fansipan Cable Car as a breathtaking and essential Sapa experience, offering unparalleled views above the clouds. The well-organized system and the journey itself are highlights, though the cost and the numerous steps at the summit are noted drawbacks for some.
"We had a wonderful experience taking the cable car up Fansipan! We purchased our tickets directly from our hotel (KK Sapa) reception at the same price as the official counters, which was very convenient.
The journey involves three sets of tickets: first a funicular that takes you to the cable car station, then the main cable car ride with stunning views, and finally, once you’re near the top, another funicular to reach the summit. I would highly recommend getting the full set — climbing all the steps to the peak can be quite challenging, especially for older visitors or anyone not used to strenuous activity.
A tip: depending on the weather, make sure to bring a jacket — it can get quite chilly at the top even when it’s warm down in Sapa.
Overall, a must-do experience if you’re visiting Sapa!"

"This mountain/peak is the Roof of Indochina, with a height of more than 3.000 meters. This was the highlight of our Sapa trip. There are mostly 2 ways to reach the peak, either take the funicular from Sapa central station or drive to this cable car station. The funicular is beautiful but a bit too expensive in my opinion. So you can easily skip it and go directly to this location to take the cable car.
Taking the cable car up was an unforgettable experience, with panoramic views of mountains, clouds, and valleys that looked almost unreal.
This is a well-organized attraction for visitors, and while it can get crowded, the views and the feeling of being above the clouds make it an absolute must-visit in Sapa"

"Super high altitude so go prepared with good shoes and sunblock from the sun. Very beautiful views but lots of steps (and steep ones). Highly recommend to purchase the railway up to the Peak otherwise the hike up is going to be quite crazy."
