What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Grand World is a visually stunning, European-inspired complex that transforms from a quiet daytime spot to a vibrant 'sleepless city' at night. Visitors praise its unique architecture, themed zones, and the magical evening light shows. However, some find it a bit quiet during the day and note potential communication challenges and the need for cash.
"Visited Grand World Hanoi on a weekday during daytime and was really impressed. The place is huge, vibrant, and beautifully designed. There are lots of shops, cafés, and nice spots to dine and chill. It can feel a bit like a ghost town in the mornings since it’s quiet and not many people are around, but it definitely comes alive in the afternoon and evening. By nighttime, the place gets busy and energetic, making it a great spot to explore, take photos, and enjoy good food. Overall, a fun and visually stunning place to visit."

"I loved this hidden gem, only 30 min drive from the bustling city of Hanoi. It’s like a little European vibe, it includes four themed areas: Tokyo, Shanghai, Ktown, and Venice.
I recommend going just before sunset so you can see it during both day and night. During the night, they have a lot of cute lights turned on, and they have a light show around 9pm by the boat in the river (I didn’t get to stay long enough for it). But I did ride the boat in the canal and went to a small haunted house and mirror maze, it was fun and worth it.
They also have a mega mall and a couple water parks within the area (but their pools were not open because it was off season and a weekday despite the park being open for only pictures and walking so I didn’t go in).
It’s such a wonderful area and the city was developed in 2023. It’s still very new and not fully occupied with businesses and residences yet, but I could see this place booming in the future."

"This place is magical and like another world in Hanoi. I guess it’s still new and quite hidden that’s why a bit quite. I visited in the morning it was such a great experience. No need ticket however need to pay for the boat’s ride. It was calm, quite and I can take lots of photos. Need to visit at night so will know the different vibe. Some residents own the cafe, can only speak very little English and need to prepare some cash. Atm hardly to find. The place is also only walking distance to the big mall."

The 'Sleepless City' Experience
This vibrant atmosphere is amplified by the 'Colours of Venice' show, a free nightly spectacle that illuminates the canals and surrounding architecture. Beyond the shows, the themed zones and numerous shops and cafes contribute to the lively evening ambiance, making it a popular destination for those seeking entertainment after dark.
However, it's worth noting that the 'sleepless' nature might be more aspirational than literal for all businesses. Some reviews mention that certain attractions, like water park pools, might be closed during off-seasons or weekdays, and not all businesses may be fully operational yet, as it's a relatively new development.
Architectural Marvels and Themed Zones
The Venice-inspired zone is particularly popular, featuring charming canals, bridges, and colorful buildings that create a romantic European ambiance. This zone is where the iconic gondola rides take place, offering a unique perspective of the area. The attention to detail in these themed zones provides a visually rich experience, making it feel like stepping into different worlds within one destination.
While the architecture is a major draw for its aesthetic appeal and photo opportunities, some visitors have noted a peculiar or 'odd' vibe, perhaps due to the sheer scale and the newness of the development. Nevertheless, the architectural diversity is a significant factor in Grand World's appeal, offering a unique visual feast for visitors.
Transportation and Accessibility
Alternatively, ride-sharing services such as Grab are widely available and offer a convenient way to reach Grand World, especially if shuttle schedules don't align with your plans. Some locals suggest searching for 'Ocean Park 3' as it's a more commonly recognized name for the area, which might aid navigation.
Once inside Grand World, the area is largely pedestrian-friendly, encouraging exploration on foot. However, for those seeking a more relaxed or scenic journey, gondola rides are available on the canals, offering a unique way to experience the Venice-themed section.
