Reviews Summary

Hom Market is a bustling hub for shoppers seeking affordable fashion, unique fabrics, and delicious street food. While the vibrant atmosphere and bargaining opportunities are major draws, some visitors find the market can be overwhelming and crowded. It's a quintessential Hanoi experience for those who enjoy local markets and a good deal.

"A great place to go fabric hunting to find different types of fabric, but please be prepared to bargain. It is very possible to get a bargain as there are many vendors that offer competitive pricing, if not don’t be afraid to walk away, as long as you are not afraid of the hunt and have ample time on hand. Be warned, first impression when entering is quite overwhelming as most fabric shops here do not specialise in specific fabrics so you would really need to know what type of fabric you are looking for and you just ask the kind shopkeepers for help and they will help you however they can(Google translate helps too). If you’re lucky some of the shopkeepers(very few) knows English and will help translate to others you encounter who doesn’t. If you ask me, there are also other landed fabric shop along the road otw to this market. But I say this place this is cheaper. Paid 200k/m (180gsm) for pure linen, 100k/m polyester (200gsm), 120k linen mix synthetic. I would say you might be able to get cheaper if you’re really good at bargaining, but ended up settling because it is still cheaper than from the country that I’m from. Happy hunting & good luck!"

Kristine Kim Tanggau

"This is a crazy wholesale market. Don't even bother to bargain. On YouTube it says if the vendor asks for 500 offer 250 and then settle on 300. That's humbug. These sellers also watch YouTube so they act accordingly. The crowds are daunting. If you can handle shopping with literally hundreds of people, mind numbing heat & torrential rain (coming in from) then this is the place for you!"
