What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Thầy Thím Palace is a meaningful cultural and spiritual site, praised for its peaceful atmosphere and the revered legend of its benefactors. Visitors appreciate the intricate carvings and the opportunity for quiet reflection. However, some encounter issues with assertive parking attendants and find the activities limited beyond prayer.
"Thầy Thím Temple is one of the most meaningful cultural sites to visit in Lagi, Bình Thuận.
Steeped in legend, the temple is dedicated to a humble couple known for their generosity and healing powers, who became beloved figures in local folklore. Their story still resonates today, making the temple not only a place of worship but also a living reminder of compassion and virtue.
The temple grounds are peaceful, with traditional wooden architecture, carved details, and shaded courtyards that invite visitors to slow down and reflect. Locals often come to pray for health, good fortune, and family harmony, while travelers will find a warm, authentic glimpse into Vietnamese spiritual life.
The best time to visit is during the annual Thầy Thím Festival (usually in the 9th lunar month), when processions, traditional music, and community gatherings bring the temple to life. Outside of festival days, the atmosphere is much quieter, making it ideal for those who prefer a contemplative experience.
For anyone exploring Lagi, Thầy Thím Temple is more than just a historical site – it’s a meaningful stop that connects visitors to the region’s traditions and values."

"The religious place for people to pray for health and prosperity."

"The location is quite interesting to visit but there is not much things to do except for praying service (to expel bad luck and be blessed with good luck). It is more for spiritual purposes so if you wishes to do anything else, I would not recommend. Also beware of the messy snatching from local people who are fighting for providing car parking services - they even blocked me from driving inside the place. And though the security guards from the temple witnessed this, they did nothing. I would never like to come back."
