I really like Hà Nội, but after wandering around the Old Quarter and Hoàn Kiếm Lake for about two hours, the kids were getting bored. We decided to come to Lotte World Aquarium, and honestly, it was the best decision. Both kids and adults enjoyed it so much.
We’ve been to Vinpearl in Nha Trang many times (we live there), and I would say the quality of this aquarium even exceeds Vinpearl. It’s clean, well-designed, and has a surprising variety of animals—penguins, sea lions, sharks, and more. (We didn’t see dolphins, even though they were advertised.)
We arrived exactly at 7:30 PM and sprinted straight to the end of the aquarium to catch the mermaid show at 7:30. After that, we walked back to the beginning to explore at our own pace.
We also did the “pearl harvesting” activity, and it was super fun. My daughter loves the necklace with the pearl she got. It cost 350k total, which was very reasonable.
Tips:
Buy your tickets online! We bought ours online while on the taxi on the way there, and it saved us 50k per ticket compared to buying at the counter.
After booking online, just go to the aquarium entrance, show your code to exchange for physical tickets, and walk right in. No checking ID or whatever. Super easy.

"The aquarium is beautiful and quite new. The water is incredibly clear—almost crystal, which makes it really mesmerizing to look at.
There’s a good variety of fish. I haven’t visited many aquariums before, so I’m not sure if it’s considered a lot or a little compared to others, but from my experience, it’s pretty satisfying.
Ticket prices are on the higher side, but I recommend buying online or through an agency to get some discounts.
There are scheduled shows, and around 2–3 PM on Saturdays, you can meet the mermaid — definitely worth catching!"

"If you are visiting Hanoi with a kid, this place is a must visit. The place is big and the collection is good. Located in Basement of Lotte West Lake Mall, we booked the ticket through klook (offers discount) despite crows being very moderate. From stone fishes, snake fishes, stingrays in glass ceilings, shark fishes and finally seals and sharks, the place is worth a visit if you haven't been to such kind of aquariums in past. But show stealers are the dolphins at last."
