What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Indochina Junk cruises are consistently praised for their luxurious experience in the less crowded Bai Tu Long Bay, exceptional service, and delicious food. Many travelers highlight the peaceful atmosphere and the quality of the accommodations, particularly the cabins with private balconies and bathtubs. The only minor drawback mentioned is that drinks are an additional cost, and some wish they had booked a longer itinerary.
"We did the 2-day, 3-night Dragon Legend Cruise with Indochina Junk and had the most unforgettable time:)
Our cabin was a dream! Beautifully designed with a cozy, elegant interior and a bathtub facing a huge window with the most stunning views. Taking a bath while watching the limestone cliffs glide by was something truly special.
The boat was beautiful in every corner, with a calm and quiet atmosphere that made the whole experience feel luxurious and relaxed.
The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always smiling and ready to help, and our guide Kenny was truly amazing —knowledgeable, kind and made every part of the trip enjoyable.
We loved the mix of activities, kayaking, cave visits, and just enjoying the peaceful scenery. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully presented. Even as a vegetarian I received my own menu with the most delicious meals and felt really well taken care of.
If you're looking for a more intimate, off-the-beaten-path cruise with comfort and heart, Indochina Junk is the best choice. We are so thankful for the experience and will always remember it!"

"Our 2 day 1 night on the Dragon Legend cruise with Indochina Junk was flawless from pick up to drop off.
We did so much research to find this tour and it all paid off. The boat was clean & our rooms were spotless, with a large comfortable bed, air-con and a mini fridge.
The bay wasn’t crowded and there was little to no litter in the water where they took us.
The drivers were polite, they drove us safely to and from the tour in a clean comfortable mini bus.
The organisation of the tour was exceptional, our English speaking tour guide Long always kept us informed and answered all of our questions.
All of the staff on board the Dragon Legend were friendly & helpful and made our stay an enjoyable experience.
The food was brilliant, multiple courses for lunch and dinner, so we tired so much amazing sea food. The breakfast and brunch on the second day was also Great with a really wide range of choice, You could carry on going up buffet style until you were full.
The staff constantly topped up our water and made sure we were satisfied. The cocktails were brilliant and they would come and find you on the deck once they had made your drink.
You must try the Vietnamese coffee onboard this was also really good.
Honestly our only regret was that we didn’t book a longer stay with them. I would happy go back and stay on the Dragon Legend again and I would recommend it to anyone."

"Choosing a provider for the cruise was one of the most difficult parts of our trip. We definitely made the correct decision. Indochina Junk was amazing. 3 days 2 nights in nov. 2024.
The transportation was great. The vans were the cleanest and nicest of our entire trip. (See more below)
Accommodations were excellent. I found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and they provided drinking water.
Food was delicious. They serve in groups of 4. You’ll make friends probably. Gluten free was easily accommodated with a bit of flair (as the dining captain(?) would announce each course while added “no gluten!”)
But the trip overall? Stunning. Incredible. So fun. It was perfect. It was busy. So many activities. Do all of them, even the tai chi. Fish for squid at night (probably won’t catch though). Just do it all. The only thing I would do different is go up well before sunrise and sunset so you don’t miss it
As for prices they won’t give numbers until you email them. Asking around the boat everyone paid about the same. Some people tried to negotiate and saved $20 or so. The only thing you’ll have to pay for on board are the drinks which are reasonable. You can ask for tap water at dinner else they give you canned water.
We saw one other group during a kayak trip, one of the group during the floating village trip, and the first night we were docked by two other boats. That’s it. Quiet. Peaceful.
Through my entire trip in Vietnam I would ask people about their cruises and based on that I strongly recommend this company if you want a quiet, nature focused trip. It is not a party boat. The one single person bailed after one night (felt a little bad)
(Side note: we used another provider to get go to our next destination after the cruise and ended up stopping in Hanoi but nearly 2 hours after we would have arrived. Use their transportation!!)"
