What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Quintessence of Tonkin is widely praised for its stunning visual spectacle, featuring a large cast and a unique water stage that beautifully showcases Vietnamese culture and traditions. While the show itself is highly regarded, some visitors have noted organizational issues with transportation and the food coupon system.
"A wonderful show with the combination of good sound and light to perform traditional daily activities.
A stage is built on water, with trees and mountains around. A large cast of non-professional actors is also participated.
Since the show was performed outdoors without roof, if you visit a nice evening with cool weather, it would be perfect. If it is raining, it would be a bad show.
The show was on time. Starting from 7:30, ending at 8:30 pm.
Outside before the show was a country market with traditional dishes. You guys can try them.
Overall, an excellent show to know more about the culture of some regions."

"The show itself is good, but the overall organization and experience is terrible:
1. The coupon mechanism to buy food is such a bad idea. And not every food stall can be bought using the coupon causing huge confusion. For example the beverage stall which only accept cash not coupon.
2. The ticket also does not mark any seat number, and whoever comes first will have the best seat.
So chaotic !!"

"It was a great show! I loved it.
Honestly I was hesitating to watch this show because it was really far from my hotel “Hanoi”. I didn’t regret watching it. It’s very worth the price.
Advice: book on “klook” with transportation because it’s very difficult to find a car or a taxi after finishing the show. Bring your own car or book a car first going and after the show."
