What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bai Chay Beach is appreciated for its long, sandy stretch and beautiful sunrise views over Ha Long Bay. Visitors enjoy the modern promenade and accessibility. However, some find the area underdeveloped and quiet, with many empty buildings, especially outside peak season.
"“Bãi Cháy Beach is clean, wide, and great for a relaxing day! 🏖 The sand is soft, the sea is calm, and there are plenty of beach activities and seafood restaurants nearby. Perfect for family or friends to enjoy the sunset! 🌅”"
PHONG LAI VAN
"Beautiful beach with lots of beach bars, but not recommended for female tourists. Me and my friend went to the beach for a normal swim. It didn't take long before the first man approached us (not in English, but presumably in Vietnamese) and after a short time touched my friend on her knee. We asked him to leave several times and finally had to shout at him. After we had moved, we noticed other people taking photos and videos of us. A large group of men were particularly conspicuous as they walked past us one by one, pretending to be on their phones and filming us. After we asked them to stop, they got even louder and shouted "photo photo" after us. We felt really uncomfortable and didn't understand what had suddenly happened. We could not find a Security or similar. I can't recommend going there to anyone."

"The beach wasn't very crowded when we went around 9 am. You can rent chairs for a small fee and there are showers to rinse off (weren't open when we were there). They have a swimming area roped off and the water is really warm."
