Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Gözleve Gate a charming and historically significant landmark, appreciating its restoration and central location. The proximity of souvenir stalls adds to the visitor experience, though some may wish for more extensive historical interpretation on-site.
"Gozlev Gates (Odun-bazar-kapusy, "Gates of the Firewood Market"). They are located in the center of the city. The gates originate in the late 15th century. They were part of the defensive structures of the city of Gozlev. They got their name "Gates of the Firewood Market" because at the exit from the gates there was a bazaar where they sold tiles and firewood. The gates were located on the road leading to Bakhchisaray. Very often, Crimean khans visited Gozlev to pray in one of the most beautiful mosques in Crimea - Khan-Jami and always crossed the gate to enter the city."

"An architectural monument from the late 15th century (in Crimean Tatar, Odun-bazaar kapusy). Several centuries ago, the gate was part of the defensive fortifications of the city of Gözlöv (Közlöv), which was part of the Crimean Khanate. From here, rulers departed for Bakhchisaray after completing prayers at the Juma-Jami Mosque. The Gözlöv Gate was destroyed in the 1950s and restored in 2004 at the initiative of city authorities with funds from philanthropists."

This meticulous reconstruction, funded by philanthropists and driven by city authorities, brought the Odun-Bazar Kapusu back to its former glory. Today, it stands as a testament to the city's commitment to honoring its history and providing visitors with an authentic glimpse into its past. The restoration ensures that future generations can appreciate the gate's architectural beauty and historical narrative.
