Reviews Summary
Casa Cavia is celebrated for its stunning ambiance, blending art and nature within a historic mansion, creating a truly unique dining experience. Guests rave about the exquisite creative cuisine, especially the delightful brunch offerings and pastries, though some find portion sizes small and service occasionally inattentive during peak hours.
"What a great evening for a peaceful and delicious dinner in Buenos Aires. Coming from San Francisco I wanted to eat as much Argentinian food as I could. The chef here is very creative and I ate some food that I never ate before. For example, the fish was grilled protection and then had a Sauce with the crunch coming from shaved cauliflower. It’s worth a nice visit and a relaxing evening. You can dress up or dress down. There’s even a little scene going on. This is one of the places to go."

"Lovely restaurant with a beautiful courtyard. Food-wise however, there are better restaurants in Palermo with less than half of their price. Also each portion is very small here as expected in fine dining restaurants.
My steak was supposed to be medium rare, but it was a touch overcooked, therefore a little dry. Sourdough bread was nice and moist inside, but a bit too chewy outside. Traditional Argentinian dessert was beautiful.
Service was fine, inattentive at times when the restaurant got busy.
Overall, nice dining experience for the atmosphere but I was expecting better quality food from a Michelin restaurant."

2 Days in Buenos Aires
After lunch, it’s time to decide where to head next, perhaps to the more aristocratic section of Palermo with time to relax in the inner garden of the Casa Cavia, a stunning mansion built over a century ago and which has been reconverted into a complex featuring a restaurant, bar, café, florist’s, and a publishing house. The cuisine here, which includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner, is under the baton of Julieta Caruso, who spent nine years working at Mugaritz, the legendary restaurant in the Basque Country, where she reached the position of Head Chef. Continue your exploration with a stroll through Palermo’s tree-shaded parks, where ducks glide across myriad lakes and locals explore by bike or on rollerblades, or simply sit quietly in the shade of jacaranda trees.

Located in the elegantly restored Belle Époque mansion, Casa Cavia carefully merges the curated talents from the worlds of architecture, art, literature and gastronomy joining forces to celebrate the excellence of Argentina. The avocado pumpkin fresh herb salad is as pretty as it is palatable.

One of the most stylish establishments in Buenos Aires, this early 20th-century mansion was given a major facelift by Mezcla hospitality group to embrace a florist, publisher, bar and restaurant. Former Mugaritz chef Julieta Caruso’s kitchen takes a plant-led approach, sourcing many herbs from Casa Cavia’s organic garden. Meanwhile sommelier Mariana Torta maintains a well-structured, 110-strong federal list that names every winemaker: big hitters include White Bones and Piedra Infinita, with a sprinkling of Champagne.

Originally constructed in the 1920’s, Casa Cavia was born from the creative mind of Norwegian architect and artist Alejandro Christophersen. Walking along the tiled corridors, visitors are led to a luxurious patio adorned with small tables in a restaurant directed by local chef Pablo Massey.
