Reviews Summary

Don Julio is celebrated for its exceptional, world-class steaks and authentic parrilla experience. Diners rave about the tender, perfectly cooked meats and the generous portions. While many praise the attentive service and complimentary welcome bites like sparkling wine and empanadas, a few reviews mention occasional service inconsistencies or cultural misunderstandings regarding tipping and order accuracy.

"We didn't wait more than a few minutes. Complimentary bubbles and empanada to start. Yummy. Excellent food. We had the provoleta, calabaza carpaccio, grilled sweet potatoe and rib eye. All very tasty. We asked for medium and it was maybe closer to medium rare but still excellent. For dessert, we had great flan and Charlotte. The service was attentive and friendly."

Gretchen Pedersen

"From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and a warm welcome that immediately made us feel happy and at ease.

I had booked a table for two at noon on a weekday, and by the time we got there, the restaurant was already nearly full—always a good sign.

The starters and bread were delightful, bringing a sense of joy and anticipation while we waited for the main dishes.

We ordered the grilled cheese, salad, and a 500g medium-rare ribeye. I was truly impressed by the steak—perfectly cooked with a beautifully smoked crust, while the inside remained incredibly tender.

Highly recommended for both its outstanding food and attentive service!"

Wei Stacy

"Parrilla Don Julio in Palermo Soho is a world-class steakhouse, proudly holding a Michelin Star, a Michelin Green Star, and the No. 1 spot on the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants. It is where Argentine tradition, fire, and hospitality come together at the highest level.
Owner and sommelier Pablo Rivero and Meat Master Guido Tassi set the standard here. Beef from grass-fed Hereford and Angus cattle is dry aged in-house and cooked over a bespoke wood fired grill that infuses every cut with deep, smoky flavor. The result is steaks that define Argentina’s meat culture.
We ordered the ribeye, and it was exceptional, perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I have ever had. The fries were crisp, the chinchulines were a delicious surprise, and the provoleta rounded it out beautifully.
The wine cellar is extraordinary, and with the guidance of Bianca, an excellent sommelier, we enjoyed a fantastic Malbec pairing. Service throughout was professional and warm, and contrary to what many claim, the prices felt reasonable for this level of craft and global reputation.

Don Julio is more than a meal, it is a true Buenos Aires experience, a must for anyone who loves steak, wine, and authenticity."

Service is A-plus, waiters know their wine and add to the interior décor by scrawling a loving message on your empty Malbec bottle.
