What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
ROUX is highly acclaimed for its exceptional service and intimate, French bistro-like atmosphere. Diners rave about the inventive tasting menus and sublime seafood dishes, often highlighting complimentary appetizers that enhance the experience. While the suckling pig is a standout, some have found certain dishes like the risotto to be less impressive, and occasional service lapses can occur.
"It is a must while in BA if you like fine dinning. The inclusion of well curated Argentinean ingredients make this cuisine exquisite. Excellent wine cellar that fits all budgets."

"What a gem! Don't even know where to start... The place is absolutely faultless. We found it by sheer accident as we were living just round the corner. Let's start with the easy bits. The staff is super friendly, speaks English, with sense of humour, smiles, no airs & graces and very reactive. The place reminds me of a typical French bistro (but from a higher shelf), being small (perhaps 30 covers), white tablecloths, subdued lighting, intimate atmosphere - in a word, cosy. Now the best bit - food. We had no hesitation in choosing the tasting menu (all in - 11 dishes with 5 glasses of paired wine @ around USD80 per person at the time of writing) - not a steak in sight! Which is great, after 5 weeks of eating beef (undoubtedly the best in the world). It is a combination of seafood, pork (suckling pig to die for!), fruit & vegetables. Even after the 11 courses & wine you do not feel extremely stuffed. For optics of the food - see the photos but for the taste - I must say it was sublime, perfectly balanced & imaginative. And served with perfect timing. The inclusion in the Michelin guide is very well deserved!"

"One of the best in the city.
I went back today. 2 weeks later, with a larger group. They made a mistake with our reservation. However, anyone can make mistakes, what's important is how it's solved. It was solved with professionalism and grace. The food was excellent again."

Located in the heart of the stately Recoleta neighborhood, just minutes from a cemetery that is the famous resting place of Eva Perón, Roux takes the small plate trend and applies it to Argentine cuisine. Try original options like shrimp with grilled melon, bok choy and almond sauce, or stick with the classics, which are still presented with a twist: ossobuco ravioli, for example, or basmati rice seasoned with chimichurri.
