At the suggestion of our Airbnb host, we ate breakfast at Tante Sara. I enjoy an omelets and Chris had the continental breakfast and both were very good options to get us going for the day!. The continental breakfast was such a great deal too….a glass of orange juice, two eggs, a couple pieces of ham, a couple pieces of cheese, two croissants, a basket of toast, and a coffee, all for only about $10 USD.

Tante Sara is a classic signature restaurant with years of tradition in Ushuaia. Real creations come out every day that combine the best pasta on the island with the freshest seafood and seafood from the Beagle Channel. The star dishes are: crab raviolins or two-colored crab and shrimp ravioli, black sea fruit spaghetti or the same but with seafood sauces.

For lunch, visit our favorite downtown spot Tante Sara, a traditional restaurant with yummy sandwiches and generous portions. Vegetarians, try take-out from El Bambu (Piedrabuena between Gobernador Paz and Deloqui), a small deli which offers a variety of Chinese-inspired, vegetarian takes on Argentine classics.

For sweet treats like cakes, pastries and chocolates with your coffee, choose Tante Sara. You can also get a ‘submarino’ here which is essentially a mini chocolate submarine that you submerge in a cup of hot milk. I honestly don’t think there’s anything better after a trek through the snow.

A good lunch option in Ushuaia is the Cafe Tante Sara opposite Tourist Information. It’s a great little local cafe with good coffee, tasty sandwiches and delicious salads. For dinner, I would recommend one of the fantastic seafood restaurants, and Kaupé is perhaps the best in my opinion.

Located on the main street in Ushuaia, Tante serves up excellent coffee every morning. Beyond that, the restaurant is particularly well known for its wide array of tasty sandwiches, all freshly made. Choices include ham and cheese and primavera sandwiches.

Although Tante Sara stands out for its pastry and confectionery, it serves dishes throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner. Their service is fast and their milanesas are very tasty, as well as burgers, cakes and coffee.

It was still too early to check in and being a Sunday morning, not much in town was open, so we settled for a substantial leisurely breakfast at Tante Sara. With a name like Sarah, it just had to be good!

We got ourselves sandwiches for the hike to laguna Esmeralda. They are also perfect for a quick bite to take away with. They also have a restaurant on the main street that is hard to miss.
