Reviews Summary
Agnes Restaurant offers an exceptional wood-fired culinary journey with a unique, moody atmosphere that's perfect for special occasions. Diners rave about the perfectly cooked steaks and innovative starters, while the service is often lauded as attentive and professional. However, some guests have found the lighting to be quite dim, and a few have noted that certain dishes, while visually stunning, didn't quite meet expectations in terms of flavor or portion size for the price.
"I have been here twice now, last time was for a work function.
Steak - best in Brisbane!
All other dishes we had flavours paired perfectly. Sweetbread is the best!
If you are wanting to impress someone bring them here… however it is a little dark but still nice atmosphere."

"From the moment we arrived, we were met with exemplary hospitality from the entire team. The exceptionally warm and welcoming host set a positive tone for the evening. The manager graciously provided us with an insightful tour of the kitchen, explaining its meticulous organization and operations. Every member of the waitstaff demonstrated remarkable attentiveness, ensuring our needs were met and thoughtfully describing each dish. I must especially commend India, our main waitress, whose professionalism and care significantly enhanced our dining experience.
The cuisine itself can only be described as an extraordinary EXPERIENCE. The masterful interplay of smoky flavors, the exquisite balance of textures, and the expertly curated wine pairings collectively elevated Agnes far beyond any expectation. This was not merely a meal, but a memorable journey of taste and refinement—one that truly sets Agnes apart as a pinnacle of culinary excellence."

"A truly elevated dining experience. Hats off to the kitchen team.
The Wagyu 6+ was cooked beautifully medium rare, full of flavour and perfectly rested. The duck was rich, tender, and balanced well with the acidity of the fruit. Each dish was thoughtful and visually stunning, a real credit to the chefs.
That said, the service could have been more polished. The lady who introduced herself as the one looking after our table was difficult to reach. Despite seeing that we had been waiting for quite a while for dessert, she did not follow up or check in until we gently reminded.
Overall, a memorable meal. Just a bit more attentiveness from the front of house would have made the experience flawless."

From the creators of sAme sAme, Hôntô and Biànca, Agnes has been cooking up a fiery storm in Brisbane. They’re best known for their wood-fired dishes and contemporary restaurant experience, but up the dark staircase above the main dining room you’ll find an intimate terrace, overlooking the CBD and Fortitude Valley. A little smoke goes a long way, but restraint is one of chef Ben Williamson’s triumphs at wood-fired-only Agnes. While the menu leans unapologetically meaty and the flavour of the grill is put to excellent use, the brilliant ingredients never taste like they’ve escaped a house fire. Instead, stewed leeks and almonds have a fine, clean, acidic balance, perfect with spectacularly tender lamb sweetbreads or slivers of grilled ox heart lifted by gorgeously rounded miso hollandaise.
