Reviews Summary

The Roadhouse Byron Bay is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, exceptional coffee, and outstanding wood-fired pizzas, often described as the best in town. Many praise the friendly and attentive service, with staff frequently going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. While most reviews are glowing, a few mention a booking fee for cancellations, which can be a point of contention.

"Perfect place to have breakfast or brunch. You can always spot cool staff, really friendly. We tried the avocado toast, and the Eggs Benedict, everything super tasty and healthy. The coffee is real good! We found the size of the toasts really fulfilling, so worth it."

Yosune Rodríguez Arenas

"Having liked the look of the Roadside as I drove by, I decided to drop in for brunch one sunny morning, and I’m pleased I did. It’s a popular spot, but I was fortunate to find parking and an outside table where I could sit with my dog on the ground next to me. The outdoor area is relaxed and peaceful, so it’s easy to forget its roadside location.
Staff were friendly and efficient. The wait time for my order was next to nothing. My flat white was strong, flavoursome and artistically presented. For my meal, I chose the eggs, poached, with sides of mushrooms and a hash brown. That was tasty, although the eggs had been poached for a little longer than I would have liked, and were rather on the small side. I guess finding any eggs can be a challenge these days. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable meal away from the city centre."

Cross Porpoises

"We visited The Roadhouse in Byron Bay, and from the moment we arrived, Chef Pedro and Mel, made us feel so at home. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even letting our little pet Luna come in with us, which was very kind.

The food was just amazing. Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. There's a real focus on quality ingredients and simplicity done to perfection. It was such a good experience that we had to go back the next morning for breakfast.

As a coffee lover, I can honestly say their coffee is the best in town. Rich, smooth, and made with real care.

The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and relaxed, the perfect Byron Bay vibe. If you’re looking for great food, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality (plus a pet-friendly touch!), The Roadhouse is an absolute must.

Thanks again, Chef Pedro and Mel. We’ll definitely be back!"

How to live like a Local in Byron Bay

Then you need to wait half an hour or more for a seat at popular cafes like Bay Leaf or The Roadhouse, and on Thursday mornings (when the farmer’s market is on) traffic crawls through the main street at snail’s pace. The best way to deal with it is to embrace the philosophy inscribed on the Welcome to Byron Bay sign: “Cheer up, slow down, chill out”. I’d consider saving your trip for autumn or winter: the weather is arguably better and you’ll have way less competition for the best perch at Top Shop.

Byron Bay Food Guide & Review

I’m a bit of a creature of habit and like to stick to things that I am comfortable with and enjoy, the Roadhouse creates an interesting dilemma for me… I’ve had some incredible meals here over the last 3-4 years that I’ve been going to Byron. The dilemma is every time I go back, sometimes even on the same trip these incredible meals have been replaced on the menu, the good news is usually with something equally as good.
