Reviews Summary

The Cupping Room is lauded for its exceptional coffee and creative, delicious brunch options, particularly the French Toast and vegetarian curry bowl. While many praise the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, some diners have noted that coffee temperature could be warmer and service can occasionally be inconsistent, with one review mentioning a negative experience with oily scrambled eggs and unhelpful staff.

"The Cupping Room is a delightful spot for vegetarians! We initially went there for breakfast but ended up having brunch, which turned out to be an absolute treat. The highlight of our meal was the yellow curry bowl. Unlike most Thai / Malay-inspired dishes across Australia, this curry doesn’t use fish sauce or non-vegetarian stocks, making it perfect for vegetarians. Plus, it tastes amazing!
We also tried the French Toast, which was more than just a dessert—it was absolutely delicious. The coffee was excellent, and the staff were warm and friendly.
This restaurant is on our "must-visit" list for every trip to Canberra. Highly recommended!"

"Known as one of the best cafes in Canberra. Great atmosphere and unique food. Coffee was smooth but a bit cold. I wish it was warmer. Staff were friendly. I don't know if it's the best, but I agree that it's one of the best. There may be a few joint first place winners though 😀"

Thor Park

"Visited the Cupping Room for brunch. Ordered the avacado, French Toast and the Shakshuka. All the dishes were delicious. The bread was well toasted and the ingredients all blended perfectly. The shakshuka was good too and was not too tangy which was great. The French Toast was good too and not too sweet.
The coffee was excellent. We also had a banana bread which was good.
The atmosphere was nice inside and the staff are friendly."

Already celebrated for their signature beans, which you’ll find fuelling espresso machines all over Canberra, the team behind Canberra’s largest specialty roaster (ONA) grind and brew their fine work at this brunchy caffeine mecca. Named for the ‘cupping’ process used to blindly judge the quality of coffee beans in competition, The Cupping Room pairs your award-winning flat white with a tidy menu of suitably elevated brunch classics; blood orange-cured salmon with compressed melon and beetroot gel, kombu confit mushrooms, guacamole-spiked bacon and egg roll and their travel-worthy hedonistic French toast: egg- soaked slices of focaccia, grilled until golden, served with chocolate soil, mango gel and, yep, orange cheesecake frosting.
