What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Great Ocean Road Brewhouse is praised for its extensive craft beer selection and family-friendly pub fare, with many highlighting the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, especially near the fireplaces. While generally well-received for classic meals, some reviews suggest it may not be the most memorable dining experience, with occasional comments on pricing and service consistency.
"Last night I ate at the great ocean brewhouse with my family, and we are happy to say we enjoyed the dinner very much. This has been my best meal while holidaying at the great ocean road.
As soon as we had arrived we realised we didn’t book a table but the kind waiter was able to make room for us outside which we were very grateful about.
We had ordered garlic bread to start us off and I had ordered a porterhouse steak for my main meal. The cheesy garlic bread came very quick and was very delicious, soft bread with a generous layer of cheese on the top.
Not long after came our main meals 2 steaks, Asian beef salad and salmon and prawn fettuccine. Everyone enjoyed their dinner greatly.
I decided to change my salad and chips for a mashed potato and veg which was a way better fit for my tastebuds, I also added Dianne sauce on the side. I must admit, I tried to savour my dinner but I was so hungry and the food was so delicious that I couldn’t stop. 🥹 the only thing that was a little ehhh for me was my mash was almost a little too floury for me but I still ate it 😋 my steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it (medium) and i was very impressed. My lemon lime and bitters was also perfection, not too sour and not too watery it was sweet and bubbly which I appreciated a lot.
The rest of my family enjoyed their dinners very much, I tried the wagyu in the Asian beef salad and it was so yummy even though it was not hot which is great, and I tasted the salmon in the fettuccine and it was so soft and tasty it melted in my mouth.
Overall the atmosphere was great with dimly lit lights outside and the sea breeze accompanying us on our dinner. My family said this was one of the best meals we have had all holidays and we will 100% be coming back if we visit the great ocean road again.
Thanks so much to the waiters, waitress and chefs that cooked, prepared and served our meal affectively."

"A decent spot if you're after classic pub-style meals.
We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Schnitzel (each $31). The portions were generous and cooked well, but nothing particularly special. It’s the kind of place that delivers what you expect, no surprises.
Good for a casual bite, but probably not a go-to for something memorable."

"Stayed one night here - paid $116.10. The rooms were mostly clean however the female shower had absolutely no water pressure and looked like it needed a clean. I understand the hotel claims it as a ‘budget’ option however I feel these amenities should at least be of a standard. Otherwise room was great.
Had dinner here as well - brewhouse burger was delicious. The ambience was very nice with multiple inside wood fires. Staff were also lovely."
