Cassia Fremantle is lauded for its exceptional, creative cuisine, particularly its wood-fired dishes and inventive flavor combinations. The service is frequently described as friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, some diners find the ambiance can be quite noisy, and the prices may be considered high by some for the overall experience, though many still consider it a worthwhile destination for special occasions.
"My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Cassia for dinner last night.
We were seated at the chefs table. It gave us the chance to watch the chefs in action. Looking around, you'll have a different experience depending on where you're seated in the restaurant which is impressive.
The staff were fantastic - attentive, humorous and knowledgeable.
And the food. I cannot recommend a favourite dish because everything we ordered was a stand out in its own right. Each dish was scrumptious, well made and executed.
The drinks menu offers a wide variety from local wineries, distilleries and more. There has been a lot of thought put into the food and drink combinations which ensures you have an incredible experience.
Highly recommend visiting for lunch or dinner. This instantly became my top restaurant in Perth and we will certainly be back."

"A truly fabulous dining experience.
Please try the lamb belly while you can - one of the top 5 dishes I've had in my travels.
Other stand out was the duck terrine! Every dish was thoughtful and delicious!
Really unique cocktails, beautiful wine list, with a great whiskey menu, and dessert wine options."

"Cheeky weeknight meet up with an old mate. So happy I was talked in to going here. Wednesday evening at 6.30pm great time to visit. Not too busy and get the best seats in the house. The staff were amazingly friendly and experienced in hospitality. Lots of good banter and jokes and really helpful with recommendations. Thank you to the nice guy Adrian and his lovely Spanish lady friend. We had lots of laughs. A great robust wine menu with plenty of quality diversity. We had a mix of foods from delightful tastes from scallops to duck rillete. Both sensational. Then on to starters with beautiful mushrooms in parmesan custard and on to tiger prawns with lamb belly. I have been introduced to a new era of clever food combinations, beautiful food pairings, high quality ingredients and excellent cooking skills and experience. I'm am merely an amateur in the perth foodie game but I am confident this place is up there with the best in perth and cannot speak more highly of it. I will be back. Thank you!"

Perth's best restaurants for a leisurely long lunch
This relatively new Freo spot draws inspiration from across the globe and channels it through the spirit of Australian barbecue – as Head Chef Emily Jones puts it, “It’s all about coming together, sharing with friends and family.” Succulent fire-roasted meats are centre stage, but sit alongside a thoughtful selection of veg-forward plates that will convince even the most steadfast carnivore: think lion’s mane schnitty or smoked beetroot carpaccio. 3/45 Henderson Street, Fremantle
The Best New Perth Restaurants And Bars For 2024
The team behind Cosy Del’s and Laika have just opened the doors to Cassia—a love letter to the classic Australian barbeque in the heart of Freo. Focussed around the venue's open kitchen, multi award-winning Head Chef Emily Jones has created a fire-fuelled menu where share-style smoked meats, fresh seafood and seasonal veg are front and centre. Think: charcoal-infused beef tartare with shallots, capers and chilli; and the wood-fired O’Connor beef rib drizzled in beef jus.
7 New Restaurants To Tick Off Your List
Although it’s hasn’t technically opened just yet, we had to include this new Freo offering that’s about to swing open its doors very soon. Celebrating the spirit of Australian barbecue, Cassia’s vibrant and flavourful menu focuses on share plates and local produce. The drinks menu follows a similar philosophy, emphasising WA wines and botanical cocktails crafted to complement the wood-fired flavours.
The Best Fremantle Restaurants and Bars
Cassia celebrates the spirit of Australian barbecue with wood-fired cooking that lets the produce shine. But it’s far from basic—take the woodfired Skull Island Prawns, basted with a house-made kimchi-inspired chilli paste, for example. It’s not all about seafood though.
