What Travellers Say

Diners praise Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant for its fresh, locally sourced seafood and generous portions, particularly highlighting the seafood pasta and gluten-free options. While some find the prices on the higher end for the portion size, the attentive service and overall dining experience, especially the waterfront views, contribute to a positive impression. Some reviews suggest the execution and seasoning could be more refined, but the quality of ingredients remains a strong point.
"A Hidden Gem in Tasmania
★★★★★
During our trip to Tasmania, we were eager to experience the region's renowned seafood, and Blue Eye Seafood certainly delivered an exceptional dining experience.
Though the service started a bit slow, the staff quickly turned things around and provided outstanding attention by the end of our meal.
The seafood pasta was nothing short of extraordinary - truly the best I've ever tasted.
What impressed me most was how the seafood took center stage rather than the pasta itself. They were incredibly generous with the seafood portions, making each bite a delight. My husband's dish was equally delicious.
The meal was so satisfying and fulfilling that we found ourselves pleasantly drowsy afterward - a testament to both the quality and quantity of the food. The chef's expertise is evident in every dish, showcasing the premium ingredients used throughout the menu.
I absolutely loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic Tasmanian seafood experience!"

"The food was excellent. I wasn’t sure because there were some mixed reviews but we really enjoyed our meal. We had the trout dip with pita bread, focaccia (which we ordered extra as they were generous with the dip so we needed something more to spread the dip on) which was also very tasty with some garlic herb flavour on the top but comes with olive & dukkah (or can come with garlic butter), seafood pie which was not large but so full of scallops & fish that it was actually quite a good portion & filling, and the entree sized grilled octopus with tzatziki. Glad we ordered the extra bread cos we used it for the tzatziki & also the bisque around the seafood pie. So yummy!!! Definitely wokld recommend this restaurant."

"Delicious food as recommended by many locals online. But it is definitely not the best on the island.
Main concern was that the seafood is fresh, but the execution/cooking/seasoning wasn’t perfect - the food was a little bland and octopus could be cooked a little longer (was still wet and moist).
Price is on the higher end, dining experience was very enjoyable and staff were very accomodating."
