Reviews Summary

Hobart Brewing Co. is celebrated for its fantastic array of beers, from core favorites to unique seasonal brews, served in a vibrant atmosphere with both indoor and expansive outdoor seating. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly staff and the energetic yet relaxed vibe, especially the large beer garden. While the beer is the main draw, the presence of food trucks adds to the overall appeal.

"Amazing place! We were there on a weekday afternoon. Loved the beers and ciders. Staff were friendly 👍 warm fireplace in the winter 🔥 They have live bands at night!"

"Beers were okay! Service was very good! Great place to visit! Food and coffee trucks on site! I recommend the Cream Ale! It was the beer that I enjoyed most!"

Joseph Tepania

"Got a chance to try local beer here, I ordered Hobart lager which I guess the best beer on the menu since it carries the name of their shop and the city. The taste was okay for me but to be honest I liked Emu beer more which I got to taste while I was in Perth. Staff service was okay also, they snatch an unfinished can of beer of my associate which we bought in Liquorland and they said it was not allowed to bring / consume while in their premises. They actually did us a favor I guess because the beer we bought in Liquorland tastes terrible because it tasted like expired beer."

Tasmania nightlife

Tasmania’s craft beer revolution shows no signs of slowing down. The state’s newest arrival has taken up a berth in Hobart’s old wharf area, a short walk from the tourism-friendly (and much glitzier) Sullivan’s Cove. During the week the big Red Shed is dedicated to its craft, producing small batches of Tasmanian Ale, Rye Porter, Cream Ale, Pale Ale and Sours, but from Thursday to Sunday the brewing crew throw open their home to beer lovers who can sample beer straight from the tank, buy food from visiting food trucks, just congregate around the brewery’s welcoming fire pit and listen to live music.

Crafty Crawls: Hobart – The Breweries

As the city’s eponymous brewery and one that sits by its scenic waterfront, Hobart Brewing Co feels like a reasonable place to start a crawl through the city’s breweries. Found in the historical, industrial Macquarie Point, the expansive brewery and taproom creates a home inside an old warehouse nicknamed the Red Shed. The rustic setting feels like a farmhouse that's been transported into the city with weathered tin, chalk boards and recycled materials making up the interior aesthetic, where there's an exposed brew kit complete with raw ingredients on full display.
