Settlers Tavern is the perfect pub; the food is wholesome, the staff are friendly, and the vibe is second to none. But what this Tav is most renowned is for being the quintessential live music venue of the southwest – band posters and fanbase paraphernalia adorn the walls like a trophy cabinet of good times gone by. Throw in the occasional comedy night and food and drink specials, and it’s easy to see why Settlers Tav is the place to be.

Located beachside in beautiful Prevelly, The Sea Garden Café is only 10 minutes from the townsite of Margaret River and is offering both dine-in brunch and takeaway over the long weekend. The fully licenced venue will be open from 8am to 7.30pm on Friday to Sunday, and 8am to 2pm on Monday. They offer fresh smoothies and yummy breakfast options, as well as pizza on the weekend from 12pm onwards.

Sea Garden at Prevelly Beach is the one with a fence of surfboards. It’s under new management (has been since March 2016) and as much as I want to try it, it’s hard to go past the White Elephant where I know the coffee is good and the food is fresh and satisfying. I did go for lunch in February 2017 and it wasn’t a lunch that could recommend but the coffee was pretty good.
