Feeling truly blessed to celebrate my birthday at Freyja. It was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. Beautiful interior with moody vibes and excellent service throughout the night.
I loved that the menu was tailored to our preferences. We went half seafood and half meat. We started with the beef heart skewers and liver parfait. Both were well balanced and not gamy at all. Next came the fish scotch eggs and salad. Personally, I preferred the fish version over the classic. It was lighter but still had all the elements of a great scotch egg. We added the signature waffle with trout roe, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Creamy, crispy, and packed with umami, such a satisfying bite. Then came the fish and venison sausages. Both were executed beautifully with great flavour and texture. Dessert was light and refreshing, the perfect ending to the meal.
The wine pairing was solid with thoughtful selections and lovely explanations from the sommelier.
Highly recommend Freyja for special occasions, date nights, or when you’re simply in the mood for something memorable."

"Came here for dinner and had the chef's selection menu which includes four courses; the staff will ask if you have a preference for more meat or fish but other than that the dishes are pretty much left to the chefs to prepare. I went for the standard and added on the sourdough and their signature waffle served with Yarra Valley trout roe; both of which were very tasty. The sourdough crust has the perfect crunch and the waffle was warm and toasty, mildly sweet and paired well with the herb sour cream mix and the burst of briny trout roe. For my chef's selection menu, nine dishes were served over four courses (snacks, entrees, mains, desserts) which included mussel, beef heart skewer, beetroot with smoked eel, 'Taste of Ramarro' salad with a citrusy dressing, venison sausage with bone marrow and berry mole, cauliflower with a complex sauce of ras el hanout and sourdough miso, hummus and brussel sprouts, mascarpone topped with rhubarb and verjus jelly, and a glass of citrus sorbet with orange, carrot puree and toasted meringue. The menu had a lot more vegetables than I had expected, however I enjoyed all the dishes; they were well executed and flavour packed without masking the natural taste of the ingredients. Overall it was a tasty and satisfying meal and the service was good. Highly recommend the sourdough and waffle."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at Freyja! Our hosts were lovely—special shoutout to Abraham, who looked after us so well. We opted for the $99 experience, which included four delicious and well-portioned courses. It was more than enough and each dish was beautifully presented.
We also went for the wine pairing at $79 per person, and it was totally worth it—each wine complemented the food perfectly. The venue itself is classy and elegant, a perfect setting for a special night out.
What made it even more special was that it was my birthday, and they surprised me with a dessert featuring a candle and a little cake—so sweet and thoughtful!
I’d definitely come back to try the next seasonal menu. Highly recommend!"
