Reviews Summary

Sum Yung Guys is celebrated for its inventive Asian-fusion small plates and vibrant atmosphere, with many diners raving about the exceptional flavor combinations and attentive service. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some guests have noted occasional issues with excessive salt in certain dishes and the complexity of desserts.

"Loved everything about our dinner last night. Impeccable service - friendly, accommodating of my dietary needs (I'm pregnant) and our waitress stopped us from ordering too much. Great tasting food at reasonable prices for the quality and portion sizes. We were also amused by the Street Fighter inspired wall.

The highlight was actually the rice cakes but we loved the peanutty chargrilled chicken and crying tiger ribs too. We were impressed the crying tiger ribs were light and crispy on the outside yet moist inside. The crunchy and slightly sweet roti tastes the best on its own. We would not recommend the scallops as the creamy sauce overpowered the delicateness of the scallops.

For dessert we ordered the black sesame LCM which was extremely delicious. I loved the mango and coconut flavours together with the toasted coconut and crunchy LCM base. Only issue it was a bit difficult to break off the hard LCM base with the spoon.

Would definitely come back if we are ever in Noosa again!"

"Amazing food, awesome service, and great vibe. Staff are very attentive and friendly and also knowledgeable about the food they're serving. Unfortunate that no changes can be made to the dishes but on the whole they're top shelf anyway. Would definitely recommend Sum Yung Guys, cheers 🍻"

Josh

"Loved it! Delicious food, portion sizes are good and flexibility to modify for three people was a bonus. Staff, literally some young guys and girls brilliantly doing their job. They knew what they are serving and was serving with smile. Plenty of seating options. Highly recommend"

The chefs put a local twist on pan-Asian classics, like the Mooloolaba prawn toast with gochujang mayo; fried rice with juicy Moreton Bay bugs; and the signature SYG red curry with lamb shank, apple eggplant and snake beans.

9 Best Restaurants In Noosa To Make The Most Of That Holiday

While Sum Yung Guys may have been the subject of backlash in the past, it would be unfair to overlook the quality on offer at what is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Noosa. The energetic atmosphere and kitchen hits immediately, as does the complex waft of aromas creeping around the space like a sillage of luxury perfume. Popular picks from the tight, modern Asian menu include the Indian inspired Keralan spiced curry, flavoured with apple eggplant, tofu, zucchini, and snake beans, and the tender ‘Crying Tiger’ pork belly with nam jim jaew glaze and fried garlic.
