Much like the MIA song of the same name, Paper Planes is a little offbeat, but a reliable source of energy. This is mostly thanks to brews that they are tapping out from the Inner West’s much loved Little Marionette Coffee. The café’s soundtrack is a little random – one minute we’re listening to Alanis Morissette, the next Snakehips.

Next up is the Paper Plane Café located at 5/2 Horwood Pl, Parramatta NSW 2150 which is the kind of café where most would want to go, kick back and chill for the rest of the day either by making small talk with others there, snuggle up to a good book, finish up work on their laptops or transform into keyboard warriors and rampage through social media. Apart from the delicious breakfast and lunch dishes such as the Chorizos that come flanked with two baked eggs immersed rich, spicy tomato sauce and the ‘Midnight Cuban’ which involves a triple smoked ham, Swiss cheese and pulled pork, there is the great coffee that will certainly appease the taste buds of serious coffee lovers. Paper Plane Cafe is a cosy farmhouse-style cafe that offers locals a throwback experience in the heart of Parramatta’s busy city. The coffee here is amazing, it’s made with a Picasso Blend which is a buttery brew with sweet caramel notes, created by Beaconsfield’s Numero Uno Coffee Roasters. The menu follows the course, filled with cafe favourites including one of our favourite ‘Big Breakfasts’ in Parramatta with its mountain of eggs, bacon, chorizo, hash brown, mushrooms and tomatoes all served on sourdough.

It does gorgeous, fresh cafe staples and big breakfasts which, we can confirm, are perfect for mopping up any morning-after dustiness.

As you’d expect from one of the best cafes in Parramatta, Paper Plane often has a line around the block, however, we promise you, this place is well worth the wait. Run by couple Carla Soriano and Ben Mora, Paper Plane whisks you away from Parramatta’s busy city streets into a cosy farmhouse, dotted with fresh flowers and warm timber. Back in 2013, the two quit their fast-paced corporate jobs and spent a year travelling overseas, before deciding to devote themselves to cafe life.
