What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cottage Point Inn offers a stunning waterfront setting and unique arrival experiences that impress guests. While many praise the exquisite tasting menus and beautiful location, some diners note inconsistencies in service and a lack of creativity in the vegetarian options. The price point is considered high by some, especially when execution and service don't consistently meet expectations.
"We had a fabulous lunch at the Cottage Point Inn. The 5 course tasting menu was varied and just the right amount for a long lunch. I would describe the style as Modern Australian with lots of international and Asian influences. Each dish was exquisitely presented with many interesting components - a true fine dining experience in a peaceful waterside location with a relaxed rustic vibe. We arrived by boat with guests from overseas and they were blown away by the whole experience. You can also arrive by seaplane from Sydney Harbour or drive. If the weather is warm and the tide is high, I recommend bringing bathers for a quick dip at the public wharf to finish off the whole experience (it needs to be high tide to avoid oysters). Ideal for a very special or romantic occasion. We will definitely come again."

"The place had the most gorgeous view of the water although it was raining when we got there. We had an outdoor table and went with the set menu which was a great mix of flavours and textures.
Service was a bit of a letdown especially since everything else was so lovely!
PS: definitely worth wearing comfy shoes, as the walk down to the restaurant has a long feet of stairs and can be a bit uneven."

"We did not stay here. The review is for dining (lunch)
We had the degustation menu. The team was great and service was professional.
For the price, the chefs could have been more creative and thoughtful towards the vegetarian menu. Serving vegetables cut in different shapes does not constitute vegetarian food/menu
My wife had the Meat tasting menu and found it great."

The warmth of a sun-drenched deck with a fast-emptying bottle of bright King Valley prosecco. This is the kind of experience diners travel the world for, and Cottage Point Inn offers nothing if not great Australian dining.

This underrated fine diner has been going strong since the 1950s. It sits on the edge of Cowan Creek, one of several waterways feeding directly into the Hawkesbury River near Mooney Mooney. Expect elegant waterside dining at its best, with beautifully-plated European dishes and a progressive wine list.
