Reviews Summary

Diners praise Loulou Bistro for its authentic French classics, particularly highlighting the divine escargots and perfectly cooked steak frites. The pastries, especially croissants, are a major draw, and the intimate ambiance is often cited as a romantic setting. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service, with one diner experiencing excessive upselling and another noting a distant service style. A few also found certain dishes to be bland or overpriced, and dietary accommodations for vegetarians could be improved.

"It was a happening place and the atmosphere was fun for a Friday night HR dinner. This might seem strange, but the dish I liked most was their kale side with roasted hazelnuts. We had one person running late and they were gracious to let us dine beyond the 2 hours limit given all the booked guests have arrived."

KC L

"Dinned here on a school night. My wife and I went to town on the menu.

The bread was served with salted butter and with 2 different types. Sourdough & baguette.

We ordered the lamb brains. It was crumbed and fried which melted in our mouths. By itself it is bland. The dish was served with capers that blended the menu.

The spanner crab tart was one of the nicer dishes if the evening. The pastry was the start of this serving.

The lobster roll was a let down. Again very bland and at $28ea you would expect better. The bone marrow was served differently to what I am used to. The marrow wasn't running and jelly like.

Okay for the highlight of dinner we ate the steak and it was cooked medium rare. It is honestly one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly with a nice char on the outside, drowned in a butter sauce and topped with well seasoned chips.

Both desserts tasted nice. It was hard to enjoy them as we over ordered.

Over all i would definitely come back again. I would order the bread, tart, steak (would try salad instead of greens) and both desserts."

"Visited on a Sunday morning for brunch. There was a decent line as it was also market day in kirribilli. We got two ice drinks - ice latte and ice long black, as well as the pork and fennel sausage roll, cheese and bacon croissant, and cheese and onion twist. The twist was definitely my favourite. The inside of the sausage roll was delicious however the pastry was cold and not as flaky as I would have expected. There is lots of seating around extending out to the restaurant side. Will definitely return to try more of the pastries."
