Reviews Summary

Mr. Wong is celebrated for its consistently fantastic Cantonese cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, with many praising the impeccable service and stylish, lively ambiance. While most dishes receive high marks, some diners note occasional inconsistencies in flavor and a tendency for dishes to be slightly salty or greasy. Despite the premium pricing, the overall experience is considered a great night out and worth the visit, though the noise level can be a concern for some.

"This place will never be overrated. This is our second time dining at Mr Wong whilst visiting Sydney on separate occasions. I feel like the food is even better now. Everything was succulent and so tasty. The king crab fried rice, eggplant dish, sweet and sour pork hock were to die for. The waiter from Belgium was delightful and helpful. We'll definitely be back."

Anna Javier

"What a consistent Asian restaurant with fantastic food and a great vibe. We went for dinner and had such excellent service. Great cocktails and they didn’t take long. The dumplings were excellent, as was the roast duck-amazing, and duck spring rolls. Toothbrushes as a highlight and even the mushrooms were excellent.
The whole restaurant feels like a club, with an open plan design and asian artworks. Just a fabulous experience and great night out."

Renae Leith-Manos

"I got blown away by the immense reviews on Google. I picked this restaurant for carb loading before the Sydney marathon. When we arrived at 17:30, there’s already a long queue outside the restaurant and majority of them were dressed up as well. Mr Wong is a super hip place, truly east meets west cuisine. The food is delectable but quite salty and greasy indeed. I guess I will enjoy the food better if I don’t need to race the next day."

With this mega-restaurant, seating (often to capacity) 240 guests on any given night, it is no surprise that this CBD eatery boasts some of the best dim sum in the district. Hosting an impressive list of awards, such as 2014 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards, Two Hats & Best New Restaurant and 2014 Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Awards, New Restaurant of the Year, this Chinese restaurant is the ideal place to gather friends and family in celebration…of dumplings, that is.

Though since they offer the duck pancakes and a few other dishes in half portions, you could just as happily come with one or two other people who are down to share.
