Sails on Lavender Bay

Located right on the Lavender Bay foreshore, the harbourside Sails on Lavender Bay restaurant has been offering guests grid-worthy views of the Harbour Bridge and glittering harbour for more than 40 years. Now, after a massive French Riviera-inspired glow-up, the Sydney dining institution has reopened, and we’ve got to say, she’s looking schmick. Time Out tip: The fit-out is gorgeous.

The harbourside suburb of McMahons Point is a great place to discover amazing waterfront restaurants with views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House when enjoying the company of friends and family. Having some of the most beautiful views that look like they belong on a postcard, the lunch and dinner menu at Sails On Lavender Bay showcases their modern interpretation of classic French cooking techniques. Woodside goats curd cannoli, Grimaud duck breast with macadamia cream and honey and lavender crème brûlée with pistachio ice cream are just some of the mouth-watering dishes available!

Sails is owned by the same crew behind Ormeggio on the Spit, Ripples and Aqua Dining, so they know how to get the sparkling waterfront vibe right. Situated on the Lavender Bay waterfront, just two steps from the ferry terminal, and opposite Sydney's Iconic Luna Park, Sails offers a relaxed and elegant dining experience with breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour. For $179 per person, diners are treated to organic sourdough bread and truffle butter and a variety of chef’s snacks plus a three course set menu with choice. Sails is also offering an option to upgrade to include four oysters to share on arrival with two glasses of NV Moët and Chandon Brut Impérial for $79.

Owner Bill Drakopoulos’ Sydney Restaurant Group has a large stable, including Sails at Lavender Bay and Ormeggio at The Spit, but has until now been cautious about dipping his toe in Greek waters.
